Step 1 of 2: Your rates
Your rates
Enter your hourly rate and the tool suggests per-visit prices for shorter calls, based on the Homecare Association’s cost structure – shorter visits cost more per hour to deliver. Change any of them to your own prices.
£34.42 is the Homecare Association’s minimum price for England 2026/27 – a floor, not a recommended price.
Suggested: 78% of your hourly rate.
Suggested: 57% of your hourly rate.
Suggested: 35% of your hourly rate.
Your enhancement for unsocial hours, applied to the visits you choose in step 2.
Helpful check: price above your floor. The hourly rate calculator works out the minimum you need to charge to stay sustainable.
The weekly visit pattern
How many visits of each length per week? A morning and evening call every day is 14 visits.
Roughly what share of the week’s visits fall in evenings, weekends or bank holidays.

A note on this quote builder
This tool produces a quote template using your own prices – it is not a contract, and it is not pricing advice. The suggested short-visit percentages are derived from the Homecare Association’s published cost structure, because shorter visits carry proportionally more travel. Check VAT treatment with your accountant, as it depends on your registration and the services you provide.

Care package quotes: your questions answered
Why do shorter visits cost more per hour?
Because the journey to the client takes the same time whether the visit lasts 15 minutes or an hour. The Homecare Association’s published cost analysis shows a 15-minute visit costs roughly 40% more per hour of care to deliver than a 1-hour visit. The suggested percentages in this tool reflect that structure, and you can override them with your own prices.
Where does the £34.42 default come from?
It’s the Homecare Association’s Minimum Price for Homecare for England in 2026/27 – the minimum needed to pay the legal wage and run a compliant service. Treat it as a floor. Your rate should reflect your costs, your quality and your local market.
How do I know what my floor is?
Use our free hourly rate calculator. It builds your true cost per hour of care from your pay rates, travel and overheads, using verified 2026/27 figures. Quoting below your floor means losing money on every hour you deliver.
Should I charge extra for evenings and weekends?
Most providers do, because carers rightly earn enhancements for unsocial hours. The tool applies your uplift percentage to the share of visits you say fall at those times, and itemises it on the quote so clients can see the reasoning.
What about VAT?
It depends on your registration and the services you provide – welfare services are often exempt, but the rules have detail in them. The quote leaves VAT out and says so. Check your position with your accountant before quoting.
