PASS has announced Schedule Hero, a new AI-powered feature that creates ranked cover plans for unassigned visits in seconds, all while keeping care teams in control.
When visits need assigning, Schedule Hero creates ranked plans in seconds, balancing care needs, availability, travel and continuity of care.
An unexpected absence can leave a care coordinator rebuilding an entire run before the day has even begun.
Finding the right cover means checking who’s available, who can meet each person’s needs, how much travel is involved and where continuity can be protected. Then come the calls and messages – often while the rest of the day is already moving.
Schedule Hero is built to take on that planning and admin work.
Coming soon to PASS, the new AI-powered feature will turn unassigned visits into clear, workable cover plans. Care teams can compare the options, make changes and decide what gets published.
Schedule Hero looks at the visits that need assigning and generates a selection of ranked plans in seconds.
Each plan takes the person’s care needs into account alongside carer availability, travel and continuity of care. It also explains the strengths and trade-offs involved, helping coordinators understand why each option has been suggested.
Rather than working through every possible combination by hand, the team can begin with practical plans ready to review.
Coordinators told us that unexpected absence – like sickness or last-minute appointment – is the most likely scenario they would need to use Schedule Hero, but it is not the only one.
The feature can help whenever visits are left without an assigned carer. That could be because someone has left, availability has changed, a new care package is beginning or the existing schedule needs reshuffling.
However the gaps appeared, coordinators can select the visits that need attention and ask Schedule Hero to find the strongest ways forward.
Schedule Hero will not change a schedule or contact anyone by itself.
The coordinator chooses which plan to use and can edit it before approval. Nothing is published – and carers and customers are not updated – until an authorised user confirms the final plan.
This keeps professional judgement with the people who understand the service, the care team and the individuals receiving support.
